Panazz: The Story has been officially selected for the prestigious Windrush Caribbean Film Festival in London, England, next month. The documentary, co-written and produced by Adam and Barry Bartholomew, charts the journey of the Panazz Steel Orchestra and continues to gain international momentum, with screenings lined up in the United States, Japan and the Caribbean.

“It’s such an honour for us to have been chosen for this particular festival,” said Barry Bartholomew, who spoke with the Express on Wednesday. “I have to thank our post-production adviser and sound engineer, Graham Carr, for sticking behind us to submit the film. Adam filled out the forms and a couple months later, he got the great news that they loved the film.”

Bartholomew described the Windrush screening as deeply personal: “To have the story of my band in this Windrush-themed festival, featuring our national instrument and T&T as a whole, is extremely special to me.”

The Windrush Festival is just the beginning of the global trot ahead for the beloved film, which screened to sold-out audiences locally. The pan documentary will also open the DC Caribbean Film Festival on June 6, in Washington DC, USA. Two days later, Bartholomew will head to Barbados for a June 8 showing at the Barbados Museum, coordinated by Tom Hinds of Naniki and organised by Mike Murray. Read More
